Biography

I was born on September 29th, 1984 in Denver, Colorado. I lived there for two years before moving to Orlando, Florida where I grew up.
I joined a local swim team (the Blue Dolfins) at the age of four. Swimming was my least favorite sport as a kid but I stayed with it as it was the only sport I was any good at!
I got serious about swimming in high school, specializing in breaststroke and individual medley. My highest placings at the Florida State Swimming Championships were eighth in the 200 I.M. my junior year and sixth in the 100 breaststroke my senior year.
Without the talent or desire to swim for the University of Florida upon enrolling, I joined the triathlon club (the TriGators). I picked up biking and running quickly, turned pro as a junior and won the Collegiate National Triathlon Championship as a senior.
I now train and race full time as a professional triathlete. Some career highlights to this point include being part of the silver medal men’s team at the 2008 World University Championship (and placing sixth individually) as well as a sixth place at the 2009 70.3 World Championship in Clearwater. More to come!
